The phrase "all you can eat and drink" in the UK conjures up images of cheap, tasteless food and over indulgence. In Dubai, they've coined it Brunch and whilst still excessive, there's an element of class and sophistication. Although as they tend to focus more on drinking, it's not necessarily at the normal "Brunch" time which is between breakfast and lunch.
The Brunch we attended was at an Irish bar called McGettigan's. Overall it was a brilliant experience and we left exceptionally full and suitably intoxicated. The first course was smoked salmon with poached egg and hollandaise sauce, washed down with the mandatory Guinness. We had other renowned culinary pairings such as: oysters and Fosters; smoked salmon and roast potato; and ice cream and rum.
It's fair to say we made full use of the unlimited drinks and food for the five hours we were there, ensuring we got more than our money's worth. We then proceeded to go out to another bar afterwards for happy hour and saw in the early hours of the morning.
